First released in flowlight-FS, the flowtoys Pages interface provides a framework that enables you to easily navigate through 30-60 modes, many features, and settings with just 1 button, and a few types of button presses. This interface will be consistent through all new Flowtoys props in the foreseeable future - learn one, learn them all :)

  • flowOS has 5 main pages as of end 2018, though more are being developed.

  • Pages 1-3: Each page has 11 modes, all customizable.

  • Page 4 is “Favorites”: Save your favorite patterns here. The default modes in Page 4 are bold red & autoplay. You can save up to 60 favorites (video says 10 - that was before the official release in mid-2018).

  • Page 5 is “Settings”: This is where you can group your capsules, adjust global brightness, global white balance, reset to factory default, and there’s a bonus easter egg mode in there ;)

Pages 1-3 :: Play, Party, Perform

Pages 1-3 have 11 modes each. Every mode is customizable through "adjusting".

The quickview table below shows you:

  • basic Page navigation,
  • the 11 modes in each page from p1-p3,
  • the adjust parameter of each mode, and
  • the estimated runtime of each mode.

See pdf attachment of what the modes look like!

Nav

  • Press the button 1x from “off” to go to page 1 mode 1 (p1m1).
  • Subsequent presses take you through the 11 modes in a page.
  • If you turned light off in a specific mode, you will return to that mode when you turn on.
  • Pro-tip: Click quickly 6x or more to get to p1m1 from any page or mode.
  • Click the button quickly 2x - you’ll see the indicator flash 2x to show you’re on page 2.
  • Subsequent presses take you through the 11 modes of the page.
  • 3 quick clicks takes you to page 3. The indicator flashes 3 times. These modes are super bright, and battery life is the last thing on your mind.

Page 4 :: favorites

Page 4 is where you'll see your most recently saved patterns. You can also use grouping in combination with "Favorites" to create looks within a prop or scenes within multiple props, and change modes on cue without needing to have many different groups.

  • 4 quick clicks takes you to page 4, “favorites”.

  • By default, favorites has 1 mode (bold red) and autoplay.
  • You can save up to 60 modes in favorites.
  • You can adjust your saved patterns.

  • You can delete 1 or all your favorites, move them, create looks and more with Favorites.

  • See the Favorites section for more info on optimizing your flowOS props with Favorites.

Video below is a brief intro to Favorites using the "capsule 2.0" light as an example - the features and navigation are the same for vision props:

Page 5 :: settings

  • Each “mode” on page 5 is a setting that can be adjusted.

  • Settings affect the overall behavior of the light and in most cases apply to all modes.

  • Settings can be applied temporarily, or “permanently” (until you change them again).

    • To “permanently” save a setting, hold past off till it turns on, then turns off and on again. This setting will be applied until you change it.

    • To “temporarily” check out a setting, do not save. The setting will hold until you turn the prop off, then it will return to the previous setting.

This is very useful for trying out settings, or temporarily joining groups!

  • Each “mode” on page 5 always displays its current setting.

  • How to adjust a setting:

    • Most settings have 5 levels to choose from. This simplifies adjustment and enables you to know when two different lights have exactly the same setting.

    • Setting levels are indicated by blinks, similar to page number blinks.

    • When adjusting a setting, the light will blink 1-5x to indicate what level it is on. Press to select. This also applies to the autoplay feature.
